dr. palmer

on march 13, 2008 james' life long dedication and hard work finally paid off when he was officially accepted to medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa! yes, its true... if all goes as planned the palmers will become iowan's this august. aside from my threatening phobia of tornados, we couldn't be more excited. james has spent approximately 22 hours in iowa and i have yet to grace the great state of corn fields, but we are sure that it will be a grand adventure.
here are some pics of our future stomping grounds.

this is james' future med school where he'll learn to be the best doctor in the world.

here's a corn field. james and i are excited for long walks through the corn fields and old fashioned country dinners of beef and corn on the cob.

i can secretly picture james looking like this when he's not in his white lab coat and latex gloves.

i'm excited to finally meet these people in person. the woman is probably our relief society president! and he's just got to be the organist.

and last but not least... the ever-popular "field of dreams" takes place in our beloved iowa. though i read somewhere that it was actually filmed in boston or some cornless city like that.

I grew up in Indiana and we got all those corn jokes too. I'm sure you will love it and find the people to be very friendly. I'm excited to hear more soon.

all good things lead back to boston. I loved your RS president and organist...it's 4:30am and I was laughing out loud! so appropriate!!

Congrats!!! Did you also know that one of Iowa's biggest agricultural outputs is hogs! It also has no food tax on unprepared food, so you'll be sittin' pretty as long as you stay away from the stinikin' pig farms.

Hello freaks! I can't believe that you didn't tell us you had a blog! We are seriously offended. If it wasn't for us having babies within days of each other I might have a hard time forgiving you. Just kidding. We love your blog. It's hilarious. Bryan laughed for a good while about the Scott in the scottish accent. You are very clever. So thanks for finally inviting us to see what's up with you two and we can't wait to see our new nephew. Not much longer! I wonder if you are as uncomfortable as me?

That's weird, I also have a major fear of Tornadoes! I think you'll be just fine, though. If i know you, like I think I know you, you won't even realize you are there (most of the time).

nata, this is so terribly exciting. congrats to you and james. what a fun adventure it's going to be. moving away for law school was one of our favorite things ever. you'll always remember it fondly. way to go! iowa will love you!

p.s. let's go to lunch soon, okay!? for reals this time. before you give birth. oh my goodness, you're about to give birth. i can hardly wait.
