the end and the beginning...

okay, so i need to take a few steps back in time right now. with the baby being born and all the fun happenings that accompanied it, i missed posting pictures of james' graduation. and since its such a huge accomplishment, i just couldn't let it pass us by. (my one regret about this posting is that i don't have a full body shot of james in his gown... he decided to save us some money by wearing my mom's graduation gown. not only was it the wrong color but the sleeves went to his elbows and the gown went to his knees. it was hilarious!)

anyhoo, james graduated on may 1, 2008 from the University of Utah with a BS in exercise and sports science with an emphasis in physiology and minors in chemistry and nutrition. he was a busy, busy boy.

and while this phase of our life is ending (what will the U be like without us??) a whole new chapter of our life is beginning! though, i can't help but reflect on the past couple years and feel truly blessed that james and i both decided as 18 year old teenagers that the U was the school for us (james, because he got a better scholarship here than at other schools and me because this was pretty much the only place i could get in to :) )

it was on the U's campus that james and i had our first conversation. he told me he wanted to be a pediatrician someday and i said, "aw, cute!" and pretty much knew i was going to marry him.

it was on the U's campus that we had our first date. we ate at the Pie and went to a free movie at the Union Building... again, james trying to save money. :) another sure sign that i wanted to marry him.

it was on the U's campus that james first sent me flowers (a lily pot... "because lily pots don't just die after a few days.") - and you wonder how we got engaged so quickly??

it was on the U's campus where we drove together every morning before sunrise and left together everyday after the sun had set.

it was on the U's campus that we ate lunch together every day between his classes and my work schedule (i worked in the U's purchasing department).

it was even on the U's campus where our little scott was born (at the University Hospital)

and it was finally on the U's campus where james graduated, so that we can move on to bigger and better adventures in the great state of iowa!

amanda, patricia, james, phil, allie, and me, and scott...still in my tummy. (my mom is taking the picture) if you look closely you can see that james' gown is blue. the rest of them were black.

now onto the more present photos. here are a few more recent pictures of scott. when he first got home from the hospital we had to lay him in the sun a bit because of his jaudice. the kid looked so happy and relaxed laying in the sunshine... we just had to capture the moment.

and if this isn't the cutest picture ever, i don't know what is.

yyyyyyyaaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnnn...........

scott james palmer slide show

happy birthday baby scott!!!

this memorial day - monday, may 26, 2008 little scott james palmer was born into our family making our little duo a trio. after a few days of recuperating from delivering a 9 pound 7 oz kid, i am finally ready to share our bundle of joy with the world!

here is a picture of scott and i as soon as we met. it was love at first sight...

this is scott with his cute daddy. james was the most amazing support to the two of us throughout the whole process. and he still is. scott doesn't know how lucky he is to have him as a dad .

here's a close up shot of scott at age 4 1/2 days old. his daddy and i love to just sit and watch his many face expressions. he is so content and fun to love. we couldn't have asked for a better baby.

and of course, we have to honor grandy who was with us through it all. and as we're living with her currently... she is still with us through it all and making life so much easier!!

baby scott's measurements:

weight: 9 pounds 7 ounces

length: 21 1/2 inches

hair: dark blonde and lots of it!

nose: a little smooshed but cute as could be (its been said that he has my flaring nostrils)

eyes: still just the beautiful new born dark. our favorite is when he goes cross eyed.

ears: sort of large. but not disproportionate to the rest of his large and in charge body.

feet: so big they didn't fit in the little footprint box!! (but is anyone really that surprised that james and i would have a child with large feet??)

family & friends who have come to meet baby scott:

-in chronilogical order-

grandy keyser

kim and ellie ferguson

jason and christie palmer

julianna barney, randi ruff, diane weeks

jenn and jeff mauger

saturday nights and provo lights

this past saturday night james and i got to go on a mini vacation with the palmer clan to provo! you may think i'm joking, but it really did feel like a vacation. we spent the first couple hours watching glen (patricia's "friend") kick everyone's trash at bowling. and then we all ate at a cute little resaurant called Little Italy... and i have to say, i really felt like i was having my first italian experience.

here's the clan in front of Little Italy.

(L-R): me, james (holding amanda & ryan's baby, allie), glen, patricia, amanda, ryan, rachelle and phil

james and i have so few pictures of us together that i had to throw this in... though we both look a little dzed and confused. that's what happens when you get schooled at bowling.

these two pictures are of patricia and glen. they make everything a bit more exciting.
and here is phil with his "non-girlfriend" rachelle...

this picture is just funny because i asked james and his mom to stand in front of the lanes so i could take a picture. cute james is trying so hard to please me and patricia is... a little camera shy... i get a kick out of her.

bubbles and bunnies

easter came a bit earlier this year than my biological clock was ready for.... hence the easter posting now - as opposed to a week and a half ago when it actually happened. its just so seldom that i have actual pictures of james and i and our family! with the disfunctioning-ness of our camera, i've had to settle with illustrations found on google (how did i live before google?). but i was able to get some pictures from my more organized sister so that i can show the world what a "keyser family" easter is really like. (i still need to get pictures from the "palmer family" easter events - stay tuned)

grandy (my mom) started the festivities off with a fun easter game for the grandkids which, of course, included a story time about the true meaning of easter.

then we all went over to the park where the kids went on an easter egg hunt! (james and i got to help hide the eggs)

the adults just mingled...

and blew bubbles (we hid a few extra bubbles for ourselves)

this was a bigger accomplishment than you would think.

thanks to everyone (especially grandy) for such a great easter!
